What is Amalgam? For about 150 years decayed teeth have been treated with amalgam. A large percentage of the population is carrying this inexpensive, easy to handle metal in their mouths.
The most common combination of amalgam : approx. 50 % alloy powder (silver, pewter, copper, zinc, mercury) and approx. 50 % liquid mercury are mixed and used as filling.
Compared to other metals mercury emits vapors at room temperature and evaporates even more in the oral cavity. Persons with several fillings are carrying a few grams of mercury around at all times. Chewing, brushing the teeth, hot liquids and galvanic effects dilute the mercury and it is absorbed and deposited in different organs of the body (kidneys, liver, brain, connective tissue) On the one hand this disturbs the metabolism (enzyme blockages) and on the other it damages the cells and genetic make-up. Pewter, silver and copper (not so much zinc) can be deposited in the body and are poisonous if they reach a certain dose.
Which are the symptoms of poisoning?
An amalgam poisoning does not show the same in each individual.

Depending on the constitution of a person the illn ess breaks out in the weakest organ. It is most harmful for unborne babies (up to 50% of deposited mercury in the mother affect the fetus) and children. It most often starts in women and men in their middle age.
Amalgam has especially toxic effects on: the nervous system (pains, depression, paralyzation) the immune system (Susceptability to infections, allergies, fungi) the hormone system (tiredness, nervousness, irregular cycle) the mucous membranes, (sinusitis, colitis, burning sensation in the mouth) the connective tissue (muscle and joint pains)
Sub-grouping of amalgam poisoning:
